After a 3rd quarter that featured multiple defensive stops, St. Rita entered the 4th quarter with a high intensity as they aimed to stage a comeback. A long drive ended with Brandon Johnson Jr. finding pay dirt to cut the lead to one score. Providence Catholic looked to put the game away on their next possession, but the Mustangs special teams stepped up and stopped a fake punt attempt to take over on the 37-yard line. Maryville vs Alcoa (TN)

The Alcoa Tornadoes secured a thrilling 43–42 double-overtime victory on the road against their crosstown rival, the Maryville Rebels, in another historic installment of the Battle of Pistol Creek, one of 100 games featured in the Great American Rivalry Series. The Rebels fought hard to protect their home turf after Alcoa struck first with a rushing touchdown to make it 7-0 early. Alcoa led for the majority of the first half until Maryville quarterback Will Jones threw a touchdown pass to sophomore receiver Reese Gardner with just 15 seconds remaining, tying the game 14-14 going into halftime. Late in the second half, Alcoa took a 28-21 lead, but the Rebels answered again with a late fourth-quarter touchdown drive to tie the game at 28 and push it into overtime. At this point, Alcoa was playing without star quarterback Thomas Manu, who had been forced to leave the game due to an injury. Despite the setback, the Tornadoes’ backup quarterback came in and matched Maryville score-for-score through the end of regulation and the first overtime period. In the second overtime, Maryville found the end zone first, but Manu returned to the field and, under heavy defensive pressure, scrambled out of the pocket and launched a game-winning two-point conversion pass to Haynes Hawkins in the back of the end zone. The decision to bypass a tying extra-point kick paid off, securing Alcoa’s third consecutive victory in this storied crosstown rivalry, 43-42.

 Kathleen vs Lakeland (FL)

Lakeland opened the 2026 season with a 47–0 victory over Kathleen on August 21 at Kathleen High School. The Dreadnaughts established control early, using a balanced offensive attack and a defense that kept the Red Devils from finding the end zone. Lakeland’s offense totaled 207 passing yards and 54 rushing yards, while its defense limited Kathleen’s opportunities throughout the night. Kathleen continued to compete as the game progressed but was unable to generate enough offense to close the gap. With both teams playing their first game of the season, the matchup provided an early opportunity to evaluate each team’s execution, physicality, and overall performance as the season gets underway.

 Mary Carroll vs Gregory-Portland (TX)

The 2026 Battle of the Bridge brought Mary Carroll and Gregory-Portland together for another chapter in their long-standing rivalry at Buccaneer Stadium on August 27. Both teams came into the matchup ready to set the tone for the season in front of a spirited crowd.

Gregory-Portland came out strong, building a 22-0 lead after the first quarter behind a pair of rushing touchdowns and a safety. The Wildcats continued to control the momentum in the second quarter, adding two more touchdowns to take a 36-0 advantage into halftime.

Mary Carroll continued to battle in the second half and found the scoreboard while working to slow the Wildcats’ offensive attack. Gregory-Portland maintained its offensive production throughout the remainder of the game, finishing with a 53-6 victory.

With another chapter now in the books, the Battle of the Bridge once again showcased the competition, tradition, and community pride that make this rivalry one of the most anticipated matchups of the season. Both programs will now turn their attention to the remainder of the 2026 season.

Tullahoma vs Coffee County (TN)

The 2026 Great American Rivalry Series made its way to Tullahoma, Tennessee, as the Tullahoma Wildcats hosted the Coffee County Red Raiders in another chapter of their historic rivalry. Coffee County came out firing, controlling the first half and building an impressive 21-0 advantage. With the Wildcats searching for a spark, Tullahoma finally found the end zone with just 36 seconds remaining in the half, putting their first points on the board and giving the home crowd something to rally behind. That late touchdown proved to be the turning point. Tullahoma came out of halftime with renewed energy and completely shifted the momentum of the game. After cutting into Coffee County’s lead, the Wildcats caught fire in the third quarter, eventually tying the game at 21. With the home crowd behind them, Tullahoma continued applying pressure and surged ahead 28-21 before Coffee County could regain control. From there, the Wildcats never looked back. Tullahoma continued to make plays on both sides of the ball, completing an incredible comeback after facing a three score deficit. Led by No. 20 Dominic Harris, who earned Game MVP honors, the Wildcats finished the night strong and secured a 34-21 victory over Coffee County. What began as a commanding Coffee County performance turned into a memorable comeback for Tullahoma, as the Wildcats defended their home field and added another exciting chapter to this historic rivalry.

Atlantic Coast vs Mandarin (FL)

The Atlantic Coast vs. Mandarin matchup was a dominant performance by the Mustangs, who wasted no time setting the tone by getting on the scoreboard just two minutes into the game. Mandarin’s offense continued to fire on all cylinders, led by their MVP Shaunqueze Foster, who powered his way to 112 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 15 carries. Quarterback Knox Annis also delivered a standout performance, throwing for 108 yards and two touchdowns to keep the Mustangs’ attack rolling. Brysen Wright added to the offensive explosion with two touchdowns of his own, including an outstanding toe-tap catch that kept the ball just out of the reach of the opposition. With both sides of the ball clicking throughout the night, Mandarin cruised to a commanding 50–0 shutout victory, delivering a statement performance from start to finish.

West Jones vs Laurel (MS)

Laurel opened the 2026 season with a 56–42 comeback victory over West Jones on August 28. The Golden Tornados found themselves down 35–14 late in the second quarter, but responded with a dominant stretch just before halftime and coming out of the half that shifted the momentum of the game. Laurel scored 21 unanswered points during that stretch, using its relentless offensive attack to overcome the deficit and take control of the matchup. The game also featured two kickoff returns for touchdowns, adding to an already high-scoring night. West Jones quarterback Tootie Lindsey passed for more than 250 yards and three touchdowns, but the Mustangs were unable to keep pace with Laurel’s offensive production in the second half. Despite competing throughout the game, West Jones could not slow the Golden Tornados’ ramped-up offense and ultimately took the loss to open its season. With both teams playing their first game of the season, the matchup provided an early opportunity to evaluate each team’s execution, resilience, and ability to respond to momentum swings as the season gets underway.

El Paso vs Austin (TX)

Austin High came away with a 26-13 victory over El Paso High in the latest Battle of the Claw, continuing its recent dominance in the historic rivalry. The Panthers controlled much of the game early, using a strong rushing attack and solid defensive play to build a comfortable lead heading into halftime. El Paso High responded with a strong second-half push, creating some momentum and cutting into the deficit, but Austin was able to settle down and regain control. The Panthers’ physical style and consistency on both sides of the ball ultimately proved to be the difference, as Austin closed out the night with another rivalry victory and kept the Claw in its possession.

San Marcos vs Hays (TX)

San Marcos’ four‑year wait for the 19th edition of the Hays County Showdown did not disappoint, as the Rattlers’ late comeback fell just short in a 29–27 loss to arch‑rival Hays. The victory extends Hays’ head‑to‑head advantage to 15–4 and marks the Hawks’ first win over San Marcos since 2020. After Friday night’s matchup was postponed due to weather, the showdown resumed under the Saturday night lights — and delivered a thriller. Trailing 29–27 with 24 seconds remaining, San Marcos elected to go for a two‑point conversion, but the attempt failed, allowing Hays to escape with the win. Hays’ Great American Rivalry MVP Gabriel Peach powered the Hawks’ offense, rushing for 125 yards and two touchdowns to secure the road victory for Hays High School.

Sycamore vs Mason (OH)

Mason defeated Sycamore 43–24 on Friday night in a game that was much closer than the final score indicated early on. Sycamore took an early 6–0 lead, but Mason answered with a strong rushing attack and led 14–12 at halftime. The Comets broke the game open in the third quarter, scoring three touchdowns to take a 35–18 lead before adding another score in the fourth. Mason junior quarterback Alex Nagel was the difference-maker, rushing for 189 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries, while Mason finished with 319 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns overall. Sycamore quarterback Zachary Branam had an impressive night through the air, completing 26 of 35 passes for 346 yards and four touchdowns, but three Sycamore turnovers and just 63 rushing yards ultimately proved costly. Mason pulled away in the second half to secure the 43–24 victory.

Lawton Eisenhower vs Lawton (OK)

Welcome to Cameron Stadium, where the Lawton High Wolverines will host the traveling Lawton Eisenhower Eagles. In a rivalry that began in the mid-1960s, this Oklahoma matchup is one of over 100 featured games in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

Currently, Lawton High is in control of the series with a 37-28 all-time record over Lawton Eisenhower. However, the rivalry has remained one of the fiercest in Southwest Oklahoma, with both programs trading victories in recent seasons. Last season, the Wolverines turned in a dominant 42-6 victory over the Eagles, reclaiming city bragging rights in one of Oklahoma's premier intra-city rivalries.

 Estancia vs Costa Mesa (CA)

The historic California "Battle for the Bell" rivalry between the Costa Mesa Mustangs and Estancia Eagles entered its 56th chapter on Friday August 28, 2026. Coming into the matchup, the Eagles of Estancia had dominated this rivalry by riding a four-game winning streak and claiming victory in 11 of the previous 12 encounters. For Estancia, the annual showdown at Jim Scott Stadium was an opportunity to cement their neighborhood supremacy and open their season with an emotional statement while the Mustangs were trying to desperately rewrite history and put an end to their current four-game losing streak against the Eagles.

In the 2026 installment of the "Battle for the Bell," Costa Mesa would indeed turn the tide in the rivalry by dominating Estancia  from start to finish. The Mustangs would score a rushing touchdown on their opening drive and not look back after that, as their offense kept their foot on the gas for the entirety of the game. Their offense racked up 437 total yards of offense and finished with six touchdowns to emphatically end their four-game losing streak against Estancia, by a final score of 41-7. The games' MVP, Costa Mesa running back Gavin Garza showed out with an impressive 112 yards rushing and two touchdowns on the night. The "Battle for the Bell" is one of Orange County's most iconic community traditions, tracing all the way back to 1966. Even with last night's tough loss, Estancia continues to lead the all-time series.

 Northridge vs Box Elder (UT)

The Northridge Knights and Box Elder Bees met in Layton, Utah, on September 4 for a matchup that brought both teams together under the Friday night lights. Both teams battled through a scoreless first quarter before Box Elder began to establish momentum. The Bees found success offensively in the second quarter and carried a 10–0 advantage into halftime. Box Elder continued to build on its lead during the second half, adding to the scoreboard with a touchdown in the third quarter. The Bees maintained their momentum throughout the final quarter, adding another touchdown and a late field goal to secure the 34–0 victory. Despite the final score, both teams continued to compete throughout the contest, with the matchup providing plenty of action from kickoff through the final whistle.

 Mascoutah vs Highland (IL)

The Highland Bulldogs and the Mascoutah Indians did not disappoint in this year’s rivalry matchup, which was featured as one of the over 100 games in the 2026 Great American Rivalry Series. The Highland Bulldogs struck first in this high scoring affair matchup of cross-town rivals. Touchdowns were traded back and forth in the first half until right before halftime. With just 3 minutes left on the clock, the Bulldogs came up with a big third down stop in the redzone to force the Indians to settle for a field goal to take the 24-21 lead. The Bulldogs quickly responded with a touchdown pass at the 1-minute mark to take the 28-24 lead going into to halftime. The Indians received the kick to start the second half and did not waste any time in their first drive out of the locker room. Sean Murphy, running back for the Indians, took it to the house early in the drive for a 77-yard touchdown run. The Indians and Bulldogs continued to trade punches throughout the rest of the game. With 4 minutes left on the clock, the Indians relied heavy on the run game and marched down the field to take the 52-49 lead with just 2 minutes left in the game. This looked like the nail in the coffin for the Bulldogs, but running back Carter Harris had something to say about that. Harris scored his third touchdown of the game with 25 seconds left on the clock, to lead his Bulldogs to a 56-52 victory over the Indians. Harris was named the Great American Rivalry Series MVP of the game with a standout performance of 266 rushing yards, 98 receiving yards, and 3 touchdowns.

 Harlingen South vs Harlingen (TX)

Harlingen wasted little time putting its stamp on Friday night’s Bird Bowl rivalry, turning in a dominant performance on both sides of the ball to cruise past Harlingen South, 49-3, at Harlingen South High School. The Cardinals controlled the game from the outset, piling up 49 points while holding the Hawks to just three. The victory moved Harlingen to 2-0 on the season, while Harlingen South dropped to 0-2. Quarterback, Hassan Woolery led the way for the Cardinals, completing 12 of 17 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown while adding 105 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. His ability to make plays both through the air and on the ground kept the Harlingen offense moving throughout the night. Wide receiver, Dayton Mireles also played a key role, recording three catches for 66 yards. As a team, Harlingen finished with 208 passing yards and 242 rushing yards, producing a balanced offensive attack that proved too much for the Hawks to contain. Harlingen South had some individual bright spots despite the difficult night. Kamron Love ran for 110 yards on 19 carries, while quarterback Miguel Arizmendi completed 10 of 18 passes for 101 yards. Luke Ramirez added three receptions for 49 yards. The loss was a particularly tough result for the Hawks after they had defeated Harlingen 17-0 in last year’s meeting, ending a long stretch of frustration in the rivalry. Friday’s result swung the momentum emphatically back toward the Cardinals, who now lead the all-time series 27-6. For Harlingen, the victory continues an impressive start to the 2026 season. The Cardinals opened the year with a 42-13 win over Rowe before putting together another convincing performance against their crosstown rival. Harlingen South, meanwhile, will look to regroup quickly. The Hawks return to action Friday, Sept. 11, against King, while Harlingen will face Eagle Pass on Thursday. For one night, though, the Bird Bowl belonged decisively to the Cardinals. Harlingen’s combination of explosive offense, defensive control and strong quarterback play turned a highly anticipated rivalry game into a 49-3 statement victory.

Waterloo vs Columbia (IL)

The 2026 Great American Rivalry Series made its way to Waterloo, as the Waterloo Bulldogs hosted the Columbia Eagles in another chapter of their historic rivalry. Waterloo came out firing, controlling the game and building an impressive 21-7 advantage in the first half. With Columbia searching for a spark, the Eagles continued to battle throughout the night, but Waterloo maintained control and never allowed Columbia to regain momentum. From there, the Bulldogs never looked back. Waterloo continued to make plays on both sides of the ball, putting together a dominant performance from start to finish. Led by No. 10 Chase Zimmerman, who earned Game MVP honors, the Bulldogs finished the night strong and secured a 31-7 victory over Columbia. What began as another highly anticipated matchup between two historic rivals turned into a memorable night for Waterloo, as the Bulldogs defended their home field and added another exciting chapter to this storied rivalry.

Lawrence Central vs Lawrence North (IN)

The Battle of the Bell belonged to the Wildcats on Friday night, as Lawrence North dominated Lawrence Central from start to finish with a 42-0 victory. Lawrence North set the tone early, scoring in the first quarter before adding 21 points in the second to take a 28-0 lead into halftime. Quarterback Darian Prather led the Wildcats’ offensive attack with an outstanding performance, completing 10 of 11 passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns. MVP IzayveonMoore was equally impressive, rushing for 62 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries while adding 77 receiving yards and another touchdown. Moore’s 77-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter pushed the Wildcats’ lead to 35-0 and highlighted an offensive performance that produced 450 total yards. Lawrence North continued to control the game on both sides of the ball, scoring in every quarter while its defense completely shut down the Bears. The Wildcats forced five turnovers, including three interceptions and two fumble recoveries, preventing Lawrence Central from finding any rhythm throughout the night. With the win, Lawrence North improved to 2-1 on the season, while Lawrence Central fell to 1-2.

Lufkin vs Nacogdoches (TX)

The Panthers set the tone early and took control from the start. Lufkin’s offense consistently moved the ball and put points on the board, while the defense kept Nacogdoches out of the end zone. The Dragons managed just two field goals in the first half as the Panthers continued to make key stops. Heading into halftime, the Panthers had a 23-6 lead. Nacogdoches found the end zone in the third quarter, but the Dragons couldn’t build enough momentum to make it a game. Lufkin continued to make plays on both sides of the ball and closed out the night with a 37-21 victory. Linebacker Joshua Bennett led the way defensively and was named The Great American Rivalry Series MVP. Bennett was active around the football throughout the night, helping the Panthers keep the Dragons from finding a consistent offensive rhythm.

Longview vs Marshall (TX)

Longview put together a statement performance Friday night, overpowering Marshall 61-13 behind an explosive offense and a relentless defensive effort. From the opening kickoff, Longview controlled the game on both sides of the ball. The Lobos’ offense consistently created big plays, while the defense made it difficult for Marshall to find any rhythm throughout the night. Through the air, Longview connected on multiple explosive touchdown passes, including several receiving touchdowns of more than 40 yards. The big-play passing attack repeatedly stretched the Marshall defense and gave Longview’s offense momentum whenever it needed it. Longview was just as effective on the ground. The running game consistently picked up yards and kept the Marshall defense on its heels, allowing the Lobos to control the tempo and continue putting points on the board. The combination of a strong rushing attack and explosive plays through the air made Longview’s offense difficult to slow down. Special teams provided another highlight for the Lobos when Longview broke loose for a huge punt return touchdown, adding another explosive play to an already impressive night. While the offense grabbed much of the attention, Longview’s defense was equally impressive. The Lobos played with intensity from start to finish, limiting Marshall’s opportunities and helping the offense repeatedly regain possession. The defensive performance was a major reason Longview was able to build such a commanding lead. By the final whistle, Longview had put together a 61-13 victory that showcased the team’s ability to make plays in every phase of the game — offense, defense and special teams.

Lawton McArthur vs Lawton Eisenhower (OK)

The Lawton County rivalry has favored the MacArthur High School Highlanders since 2010. MacArthur has won 17 of the last 21 meetings, and Eisenhower entered the Battle of the Boulevard at Cameron Stadium looking to shift the momentum. With temperatures reaching 100 degrees at kickoff, the non-conference matchup heated up quickly. MacArthur scored all seven first-half touchdowns and built a commanding 46-12 halftime lead over the Eagles. MacArthur’s Isaiah Ward accounted for three of the Highlanders’ seven touchdowns and earned the game’s MVP award. Neither team scored in the second half, as Eisenhower was unable to rally through the passing game. MacArthur controlled the clock after halftime and finished with a 46-12 victory. Eisenhower remained winless in the 2026 season, while MacArthur improved to 1-1.

Kent-Meridian vs Auburn (WA)

Kent-Meridian opened its home schedule with a difficult 53–0 loss to Auburn. The Trojans got off to a red-hot start, scoring 28 points in the first quarter alone and quickly taking control of the matchup. Auburn’s explosive offense and pressure on defense put the Royals in an early hole, making it difficult for Kent-Meridian to find any rhythm as the game progressed. The Royals showed signs of life in the second quarter, marching down the field on an impressive drive that featured a big 30-yard catch and run, setting Kent-Meridian up at the Auburn one-yard line. However, Auburn’s defense came up with a crucial play two snaps later, intercepting the ball in the end zone to preserve the shutout and keep the Royals off the scoreboard. Auburn continued to control the game on both sides of the ball, adding to its advantage while preventing Kent-Meridian from capitalizing on its scoring opportunity. Despite the Royals’ strong second-quarter drive and effort to create momentum, Auburn’s defense remained dominant and secured the shutout. The loss gave Kent-Meridian a challenging start to its home schedule, while Auburn left with a convincing victory after controlling the matchup from the opening quarter through the final whistle.

Victor Valley vs Apple Valley (CA)

Victor Valley came out on top of Apple Valley 20–7 in the annual Bell Game on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Victorville. After a scoreless first quarter, Victor Valley got on the board and took a 6–0 lead into halftime. Apple Valley answered with a score in the third quarter, but Victor Valley responded with another touchdown in the fourth to pull away and secure the 13-point victory. Victor Valley quarterback P. Rapattoni had a big night, completing 11 of 22 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns. Aiden Tanks was his top target, hauling in four catches for 126 yards and two touchdowns. On the Apple Valley side, C. Higgs led the rushing attack with 87 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries, while D. Swan-Satterwhite made six catches for 105 yards.

Piqua vs Troy (OH)

Troy came away with a hard-fought 28-14 win against Piqua in the latest Battle on the Miami! Troy commanded an early lead against Piqua, with WR Camryn Mangas returning the opening kickoff. After a series of defensive stops the Indians responded with a 39-yard passing touchdown to WR Cam Albright to end the first half. Both teams came out of halftime fired up and made multiple defensive stops. Troy gained momentum again when Camryn Mangas found his way into the end zone, this time with a rushing touchdown. Piqua answered early in the fourth quarter with a passing touchdown to tie the game up. After a series of defensive stops for both teams the Trojans had a thrilling 87 yard drive which was capped off with a QB sneak by QB Colton Adkins to put Troy up 21-14 with 2:00 on the clock. Piqua executed an efficient two minute drill to push the ball past midfield, but with 9 seconds to spare Troy sealed the win with an impressive 75 yard pick six to seal the game. Pueblo Centennial vs Pueblo Central (CO)

The 2026 Colorado high school football season featured one of the state's most historic rivalries as the Pueblo Central Wildcats traveled to Dutch Clark Stadium to take on the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs in the 126th edition of the Bell Game. The rivalry, which dates back to 1892, brought another packed crowd together on Friday night as both teams battled for the coveted Bell. The Wildcats took control of the game early, using a strong rushing attack to jump out to an 8-0 lead after a 15-yard touchdown run from Dontez Maes. Central continued to build momentum in the first quarter as Sonny Vigil added another rushing touchdown, extending the Wildcats' advantage to 16-0. Central's offense continued to find success in the second quarter, with Maes scoring his second touchdown of the night before Cordell Hayes added another score. The Wildcats entered halftime with a commanding 30-0 advantage. After halftime, Central continued to control the game on both sides of the ball. The Wildcats' defense kept Centennial off the scoreboard while forcing two turnovers and limiting the Bulldogs' offense from finding any consistent rhythm. Central's young backfield continued to make an impact throughout the night as the Wildcats added two more touchdowns in the second half to finish off the 43-0 victory. Dontez Maes led the way for Central's rushing attack, finding the end zone multiple times, while Sonny Vigil and Cordell Hayes also contributed touchdowns. Quarterbacks Zion Aguilar and Sonny Vigil helped lead a Central offense that produced five total touchdowns from its backfield. The Wildcats capped off the night with a 43-0 shutout victory, extending their Bell Game winning streak to eight straight years. Central improved to 2-1 on the season, while Centennial fell to 0-3.

Rutland vs Hartford (VT)

Rutland put together a strong performance Friday night, shutting out Hartford 14-0 behind an efficient passing game and a dominant defensive effort. From the opening kickoff, Rutland played with control on both sides of the ball, making the plays necessary to come away with the victory. Through the air, Rutland’s passing game provided a key spark throughout the night. The Raiders moved the ball effectively through the air, making timely completions and keeping the Hartford defense from settling into a rhythm. Rutland’s ability to throw the football consistently helped the offense sustain drives and create opportunities to put points on the board. While the offense produced when it needed to, Rutland’s defense was the story of the night. The Raiders played with intensity and discipline, limiting Hartford’s opportunities and keeping the Hurricanes off the scoreboard. Rutland’s defensive effort helped maintain control of the game and preserve the shutout through the final whistle. Both teams also made plays in the secondary, with Rutland and Hartford each coming away with an interception. The turnovers highlighted the defensive battle and showed the ability of both teams to make plays when the ball was in the air. By the final whistle, Rutland had secured a 14-0 victory over Hartford, combining a solid passing attack with a defense that consistently kept the Hurricanes out of the end zone. Lakeville South vs Shakopee (MN)

The Shakopee and Lakeville South matchup has developed into a meaningful Minnesota rivalry, with Lakeville South having enjoyed some recent success against the Sabers, particularly in the postseason. Shakopee entered Friday’s game having won the most recent meeting and were looking to prove that last year’s result was no accident. Under the Friday night lights in Lakeville, Lakeville South struck first, but the Sabers quickly flipped the momentum with 17 unanswered points before halftime. Shakopee’s defense created pressure and disrupted the Cougars’ offense, helping the Sabers take control of the game. Lakeville South fought back early in the third quarter when Griffen Dean scored a touchdown, cutting into Shakopee’s lead and briefly shifting the momentum. However, Shakopee refused to fold, responding with a strong second-half push to regain control and pull away. The Sabers’ defense held Lakeville South to just two touchdowns throughout the entire game and their offense stepped it up on their end as well. After scoring only nine points in its season opener, Shakopee exploded for 32 points against a highly ranked Lakeville South team. The 32–14 victory moved the Sabers to 2–0 and served as an early but monumental win for Shakopee that demonstrated how they could overcome adversity and withstand a comeback attempt against one of the area’s top teams.

Mankato West vs Mankato East (MN)

The 2026 Great American Rivalry Series made its way to Mankato, Minnesota, as the Mankato West Scarlets hosted the Mankato East Cougars in another chapter of their historic rivalry. Mankato West came out firing, controlling the first half and building an impressive 28-0 advantage. With the Cougars searching for a spark, Mankato East finally found the end zone with just 58 seconds remaining in the game, putting their first points on the board and giving the away crowd something to rally behind. From there, the Cougars punched in a 2-Point conversion to make it 42-8. In the end, the Scarlets offense was too powerful. The charge for Mankato West was led by No. 2 Osborne Lorenz, who earned Game MVP honors, the Scarlets finished the night strong and secured the 42-8 victory over Mankato East. What began as a pressure packed hometown rivalry turned into a memorable ‘Jug’ regaining performance by the Scarlets, as Mankato West defended their home field and added another exciting chapter to this historic rivalry.

St. Xavier vs Moeller (OH)

Saint Xavier and Moeller battled to a 30–15 finish, with the Bombers and Crusaders tied at halftime before Moeller took control in the second half. The Crusaders opened the scoring with a 30-plus-yard touchdown pass through the air, but Saint Xavier answered with a one-yard quarterback sneak to even the game and send the teams into halftime tied.

Moeller came out of the locker room with a much stronger second-half performance, taking control on both sides of the ball and pulling away from the Bombers. The Crusaders finished with 398 total yards on 62 plays, averaging 6.4 yards per play, while Saint Xavier managed 217 yards on 60 plays, averaging just 3.6 yards per play. The difference in offensive production became especially apparent after halftime, as Moeller consistently moved the ball while limiting the Bombers’ ability to generate momentum.

The second-half surge turned a tightly contested game at the break into a 30–15 Moeller victory. With the win, Moeller now leads the all-time series 48–24–1 and avenged its loss to Saint Xavier from a season ago. The Crusaders, a nine-time Ohio state champion and five-time national champion, added another chapter to their storied program history with the victory. The Bombers kept the game even through the first two quarters, but Moeller’s second-half dominance and significant advantage in total yardage ultimately decided the matchup.

Sun Prairie East vs Sun Prairie West (WI)

The latest chapter of the Sun Prairie crosstown rivalry belonged to the Cardinals, as Sun Prairie East delivered a dominant performance in a 36-0 victory over Sun Prairie West on Friday night at Bank of Sun Prairie Stadium at Ashley Field.

Featured as part of the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, the matchup brought together two programs whose rivalry has quickly become one of the most anticipated games on the local calendar. After years of competing under one Sun Prairie football program, the opening of Sun Prairie West in 2022 created a new tradition, with former teammates and members of the same community now meeting on opposite sidelines.

On Friday night, East took control and never let go. The Cardinals’ defense kept the Wolves off the scoreboard for the entirety of the contest, while the offense supplied more than enough firepower to secure the 36-0 victory.

The win marked Sun Prairie East’s second consecutive victory and moved the Cardinals to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in Badger Large Conference play. It also continued East’s strong start to the young rivalry, with the Cardinals now having won each of the five meetings between the two programs since their first matchup in 2022.

For Sun Prairie West, the loss dropped the Wolves to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play. The Wolves will look to bounce back when they travel to face Waunakee, while Sun Prairie East turns its attention to a conference matchup with undefeated Monona Grove.

Although the rivalry is only five years old, the history between these two programs runs much deeper. Friday night’s matchup provided another chapter in a series built around community pride, familiar faces and the bragging rights that come with winning a crosstown showdown.

When the final whistle sounded, those bragging rights once again belonged to Sun Prairie East, as the Cardinals walked away with a 36-0 victory and another memorable win over their crosstown rivals.

Glenbard South vs Glenbard East (IL)

The Rams set the tone early and battled their way to a 20-12 victory over Glenbard South. Glenbard East’s offense found success on the ground, with Monti Perry leading the way and scoring two rushing touchdowns. The Rams took a 10-6 lead into halftime after Perry punched in a 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Glenbard East continued to control the game in the third quarter as Perry scored his second 1-yard rushing touchdown, extending the Rams’ lead to 17-6. The defense also came up with timely stops, including a fourth-quarter interception that set up another East field goal and pushed the lead to 20-6. Glenbard South made a late push, scoring a pair of passing touchdowns, but missed both extra-point attempts. The Rams’ defense produced one final stop on downs late in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Perry’s impact on both the scoreboard and the ground game helped lead Glenbard East throughout the night, and his performance earned him The Great American Rivalry Series MVP honors.

Wauwatosa East vs Wauwatosa West (WI)

The 2026 Great American Rivalry Series featured a thrilling rivalry matchup as Wauwatosa East took on Wauwatosa West in this inner-city rivalry. The Trojans took control early, jumping out to a 7-0 lead with a 41-yard tip-drill touchdown caught by #4 Kaden Miller. The Trojans extended their lead with a powerful run by #5 Lamar Johnson finding the endzone at the beginning of the third quarter. Wauwatosa East then responded with 21 unanswered points on the back of 2nd string QB, Sebatian Madden, to take a 21-14 lead late in the fourth quarter. With less than a minute remaining, Wauwatosa West mounted a dramatic comeback, driving from their own endzone, before Hawkin Ullsperger found the endzone on a 13-yard touchdown run to cut the deficit to 21-20. The Trojans elected to go for two, and Kaden Miller converted to give West a 22-21 lead with 39 seconds remaining. Wauwatosa East had one final opportunity, but the Trojans’ defense held strong to secure the victory. In a game that featured big plays, momentum swings, and a dramatic fourth-quarter finish, Wauwatosa West came away with a thrilling 22-21 victory over Wauwatosa East. With Ullsperger’s heroics throughout the game, he was rightfully named MVP of this matchup. The win moved the Trojans to 1-4, while the Red Raiders fell to 3-2.

Mansfield Summit vs Mansfield Legacy (TX)

At Newsom Stadium, it was a defensive battle in the first half with both Mansfield Summit and Mansfield Legacy’s defenses looking stout while their offenses failing to capitalize. Legacy got on the board first with two field goals, but Summit finally found the end zone at took a 7-6 lead into the locker room. Summit made the most of their halftime adjustments and scored another touchdown and a field goal to take a 17-6 lead into the 4thquarter. The Colts weren’t finished and scored to close the gap. Summit answered immediately and took a 24-13 lead. Legacy wouldn’t go away quietly, however, and answered to bring the score to 24-19. With time running down, the Colts defense stopped the Jaguars, and they had one last opportunity to drive down the field and win the game.  The Summit defense came up huge forcing an interception with 1:24 left on the clock to seal the deal. The 24-19 victory extended their series record to 9-2 and provided them bragging rights for another year!

 Vintage vs Napa (CA)

Napa wasted little time making its mark, striking first with just two minutes left in the opening quarter when #26 Eryck Gualberto turned an interception into a 20-yard return, leading to a touchdown for a 7-0 lead. Vintage answered in a big way in the second quarter, as MVP and QB1 #7 Hunter Weis took control of the game with two rushing touchdowns to put the Crushers ahead 14-7 at halftime. Vintage’s momentum continued after the break, with sophomore #4 Darrian Johnson finding the end zone early in the third quarter to stretch the lead to 21-7. Special teams then delivered a pivotal play when #41 Tysin Costella blocked a Napa punt, setting the stage for another Vintage score before Costella added a touchdown of his own to cap the scoring. Vintage finished strong on both sides of the ball, pulling away for a 28-7 victory and adding another memorable chapter to the rivalry.

 Dickinson vs Clear Springs (TX)

After Clear Springs’ defense stalled Dickinson’s opening offensive drive, the Gators quickly found their rhythm, engineering an eight-play, 24-yard march capped by a touchdown pass from MVP and QB1 Lorenzo Aguirre. Dickinson kept its foot on the gas, finding the end zone again on its next possession to close the first quarter with a commanding 14-0 lead. The Gators carried that momentum into the second quarter, adding another touchdown five minutes into the period to extend the advantage to 21-0 and keep the Clear Springs offense scoreless. Dickinson then delivered its biggest play of the night when Cedric Brown burst through a gap created by the offensive line and raced 67 yards for a touchdown, putting the Gators firmly in control. Clear Springs answered with a scoring drive of its own, led by Eli’jah Rubens, Kaedyn Hutto, and Darrien Moore to make it 28-7, but Dickinson quickly slammed the door on any comeback hopes. From there, the Gators overwhelmed Clear Springs with a relentless, collective effort, piling on points and finishing with a dominant 59-7 victory.

St. Xavier vs Trinity (KY)

“The Game” took place under the lights of L&N Stadium, bringing the two Louisville rivals together for the 96th meeting. This historic rivalry is built on tradition, pride and bragging rights. Trinity came out firing and never looked back, dominating St. Xavier 44-0. The Shamrocks jumped out to a 30-0 halftime lead and controlled the game on both sides of the ball, continuing their recent run of success. Trinity’s offense rolled up 350 yards, while the defense held the Tigers to just 41 yards of total offense. Quarterback Zane Johnson threw for 311 yards and four touchdowns as the Shamrocks controlled the game from start to finish. Junior Running Back, Ashton Taylor, earned MVP honors after scoring three touchdowns, including a 34-yard rushing touchdown and two touchdown receptions, helping Trinity secure another statement victory in one of Kentucky high school football’s biggest rivalries.

Arlington vs Lamar (TX)

The Arlington Colts and Lamar Vikings met at UTA Maverick Stadium on September 25 for another chapter in their long-standing Arlington rivalry. Both teams came out competing in front of a strong crowd, setting the stage for an action-packed matchup. Lamar established an early advantage, but Arlington responded throughout the game to keep the contest within reach. The Colts' offense found opportunities to put points on the board, while Lamar continued to answer with an effective rushing attack and timely scoring plays. The two teams continued trading momentum throughout the second half, with Arlington closing the gap at several points before Lamar extended its lead late in the contest. When the final whistle sounded, Lamar earned a 41–31 victory. The matchup provided an exciting night of football and another memorable chapter in the rivalry between Arlington and Lamar.

Simeon Career Academy vs Morgan Park (IL)

The Chicago high school football rivalry between Simeon Career Academy and Morgan Park brought another competitive matchup as the Wolverines and Mustangs faced off in a battle between two familiar city rivals. Simeon came out strong to open the game, striking first with a touchdown in the opening quarter to take an early 6–0 lead. Although the Wolverines were unable to convert the extra point, their early score gave them the advantage as both teams settled into what quickly became a defensive battle. Morgan Park looked to answer after falling behind early, but Simeon’s defense continued to make things difficult for the Mustangs throughout the opening quarter. The Wolverines were able to hold onto their 6–0 advantage through the end of the first, putting Morgan Park in a position where they would have to respond. That response came in the second quarter. Morgan Park began to find its rhythm offensively, eventually breaking through when Will Smith found the end zone for the Mustangs’ first touchdown of the afternoon, tying the game at 6–6. With the score even, the matchup began to shift into a back-and-forth battle as both defenses worked to keep the opposing offense from gaining control. Simeon continued to battle and put together several promising possessions, moving the football and coming close to extending drives that could have put the Wolverines back in front. Morgan Park’s defense, however, continued to come up with stops when it needed them, keeping Simeon from adding to its six first-quarter points. As the game moved into the second half, Morgan Park began to take control of the momentum. After a tightly contested opening half, the Mustangs were able to create more opportunities offensively while their defense continued to shut the door on Simeon’s attempts to regain the lead. The Wolverines remained within striking distance and continued to fight on both sides of the ball, but Morgan Park gradually began to separate itself on the scoreboard. With Morgan Park holding the advantage late in the game, the Mustangs looked to finish the job and put the rivalry matchup away. Travez Jones delivered the final blow, finding the end zone for Morgan Park’s last touchdown of the afternoon and helping extend the Mustangs’ lead to 20–6. Simeon continued to battle until the final whistle, but Morgan Park’s defense completed an impressive performance by holding the Wolverines scoreless after their opening quarter touchdown. By the end of the afternoon, Morgan Park had turned an early 6–0 deficit into a 20–6 victory over Simeon Career Academy. No. 8 Raymond Gilbert was named the Game MVP after helping lead the Mustangs to the rivalry victory. In a matchup that started as a close defensive battle, Morgan Park’s ability to respond after falling behind early, make key stops, and take control as the game progressed ultimately proved to be the difference.

Middletown vs Port Jervis (NY)

The 148th Erie Bell Game added another thrilling chapter to one of the oldest rivalry’s in the country. Middletown started the game strong, as QB Joseph Royal found WR Ryheem Tinsley Jr. for a 55-yard touchdown to take a 6-0 lead just a few minutes into the game. After both teams traded turnovers and punts, Middletown took over with 27 seconds left in the first quarter. From there, Middletown controlled the clock using their run game and went on a 10-minute drive, ending with a QB keeper that found the endzone to extend their lead. Port Jervis put together a good drive, but they weren’t able to get off one final play, sending it to halftime with Middletown up 13-0. Coming out of half, Port Jervis put together a good drive, but the Middie Bears forced a fumble to take over. After the Raiders defense forced a punt, they went on a long drive of their own, as their QB used a keeper of his own to put Port Jervis on the board and cut the deficit to 13-7. To start the 4th quarter, Middletown extended  their lead as Joseph Royal punched in his second rushing touchdown of the night. On the ensuing possession, game MVP Ryheem Tinsley Jr. came up with his second big play of the night as he intercepted the first Port Jervis pass. The Raiders were not giving up as they forced a fumble of their own and looked to mount a late comeback. However, the Middie Bears slammed the door shut as a pick 6 further extended the lead, bringing the final score to 28-7. Middletown won back the Erie Bell and moves to 4-0 on the season as Port Jervis falls to 2-2.

 Brandon Valley vs Harrisburg (SD)

The Brandon Valley Lynx and Harrisburg Tigers met on October 2 for another chapter in their Great American Rivalry Series matchup. Both teams came out ready to compete, with the game remaining closely contested through the first half. Brandon Valley took an early lead, but Harrisburg responded with points of its own to keep the game within reach. The Lynx carried a 14–12 advantage into halftime, setting the stage for a competitive second half. Brandon Valley came out of the break with increased momentum, extending its lead with a combination of strong offensive drives and key defensive plays. The Lynx continued to capitalize on opportunities throughout the second half, while Harrisburg battled to stay within striking distance. When the final whistle sounded, Brandon Valley earned a 38–12 victory. The matchup provided an exciting night of football and another memorable chapter in the rivalry between the two programs.

Kenosha Bradford vs Racine Horlick (WI)

Kenosha Bradford delivered a dominant performance in its homecoming game against district rival Racine Horlick, shutting out the Rebels 49–0 and improving the Red Devils to 5–2 on the season, while Horlick fell to 2–5 and suffered its third consecutive loss. Bradford established control early, opening the scoring with a 30-yard touchdown pass into the corner of the end zone and setting the tone for what would become a one-sided contest. Although Horlick struggled to generate consistent offense, the Rebels created one of their best opportunities late in the second half when they intercepted a Bradford pass and gave their offense excellent field position. Bradford’s defense responded when it mattered most, stopping Horlick from turning the turnover into points and preserving the shutout heading into halftime. The Red Devils continued their offensive dominance in the third quarter, when sophomore Kameryn Rodriguez took a quick screen pass and raced to the end zone for another Bradford touchdown, showcasing the team’s ability to create explosive plays. Bradford continued to control the game as the night went on, with its offense consistently moving the ball and its defense keeping Horlick from finding any rhythm. Gahari Barnes was named the game’s MVP after making a major impact on both sides of the ball, contributing as a running back on offense while also playing safety on defense. His two-way performance represented the overall balance and physicality Bradford displayed throughout the game. Beyond the individual performances, the victory added another significant chapter to the growing rivalry between these two district programs. With the win, Bradford moved to 3–2 against Horlick in the series since 2022, giving the Red Devils the recent edge in a rivalry that has continued to gain importance. The 49–0 result was not only an important win for Bradford’s record but also a statement about the team’s current momentum, while Horlick will look to end its three-game losing streak and regain its footing as the season enters its final stretch.

Putnam City vs Putnam City North (OK)

The Putnam City Pirates and the Putnam City North Panthers put on a show under the lights of Pirate Stadium in this year’s matchup, which was featured as one of over 100 games in the 2026 Great American Rivalry Series. The game got off to a slow start with Putnam City being forced to a field goal try that was tipped by the Panthers and unsuccessful. The Panthers then started a strong drive before being stopped on a big third down and forced to punt. After back-to-back turnovers in the first two drives of the game, the dog fight began. Putnam City struck first blood with a long drive and a rushing touchdown in the redzone. The Panthers answered right back to tie it up. The Panthers and the Pirates traded touchdowns again to make it a 14-14 game with under a minute left in the half. There might not have been much time left on the clock, but Putnam City head football coach, Coach Alexander, was not taking his Pirates to the locker-room without the lead. The Pirates drove down and scored on a gutsy touchdown to pass to take the 21-14 lead going into halftime. The Panthers received the kickoff to start the second half and came out of the locker-room swinging. The Panthers scored to tie it up 21-21 and the back-and-forth narrative continued. After the Panthers and Pirates traded scores once more, the Pirates were left with one more drive and a chance to end it in regulation. The Panthers came up with a big third down stop on the pirates 35-yard line to force the Pirates punt. Coach Alexander and his coaching staff drew up a perfectly executed fake punt pass that was completed for a first down. In a crazy turn of events, a late flag was thrown to call the play back and reset 4th down, forcing the Pirates to inevitably punt it away. The Panthers elected to take the ball first in overtime and scored quickly to make it a 34-28 ball game. The PAT was tipped and wide left, leaving an opening for the Pirates to seal the deal with a touchdown and a PAT. The Pirates made quick work of tying the game with a rushing touchdown, but it all came down to the kick. The Putnam City sideline and fans went dead silent before erupting at the sight of the ball sailing between the uprights, securing the Pirates’ 35-34 overtime victory.

Hoover vs Thompson (AL)

The Thompson Warriors remained undefeated Friday night, defeating the Hoover Buccaneers 31–14 in a highly anticipated Region 3 matchup on October 2, 2026, at The Met Stadium. The victory moved Thompson to 6–0 on the season, while Hoover dropped to 3–4. The win also extended Thompson’s current winning streak to 11 games. Thompson wasted little time establishing control. The Warriors opened the scoring on Hoover’s first offensive possession when linebacker Trent McCorvey intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, giving Thompson an early 7–0 advantage. McCorvey finished the night with 9 tackles, including 2 tackles for loss, and an interception returned for a touchdown, marking his best statistical performance of the season and earning himself MVP honors. Thompson added another touchdown in the first quarter to take a 14–0 lead. Hoover’s defense kept the Buccaneers within striking distance by blocking a Thompson field-goal attempt, but the Warriors maintained their two-score advantage through halftime. The Warriors continued to find ways to produce offensively in the second half. CJ Cowley turned in one of the game’s strongest offensive performances, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries. Cowley also contributed 54 receiving yards and a touchdown, giving him three total touchdowns on the night. Hoover finally got on the scoreboard in the third quarter, cutting into Thompson’s lead and giving the home crowd some momentum. The Buccaneers continued to battle throughout the second half and added another touchdown in the fourth quarter, but Thompson responded with a touchdown of its own to keep the game out of reach. Despite the loss, Hoover continued to compete against one of the state’s top teams and showed resilience after falling behind early. Thompson, meanwhile, continued its impressive start to the season and secured another important region victory.

Spring vs Westfield (TX)

Westfield came away with a 42-6 victory over Spring on Friday night, continuing its strong stretch of play as the season moves forward. The Mustangs controlled much of the game from the start, using a balanced offensive attack and strong defensive performance to build a commanding lead. Spring struggled to find consistency offensively, while Westfield continued to capitalize on its opportunities and keep the pressure on throughout the night. The Mustangs’ physical style and execution on both sides of the ball ultimately proved to be the difference, as Westfield closed out the night with a convincing victory and improved to 3-2 on the season.

Klein delivered a dominant performance from the opening kickoff, taking control early and never letting Klein Forest find a rhythm. The offense was clicking throughout the night, making plays both through the air and on the ground, while the defense kept the pressure on and consistently forced Klein Forest off the field. Klein jumped out to a huge lead in the first half, scoring repeatedly and putting the game out of reach before halftime. The Wildcats carried a 42-0 advantage into the locker room, completely controlling the tempo and momentum of the game. The second half continued in much of the same fashion. Klein stayed aggressive on offense, continued moving the ball effectively, and added to its lead while the defense maintained the shutout. Even late in the game, Klein Forest was unable to generate any sustained offensive momentum, as Klein continued to control both sides of the ball. Klein ultimately closed out a convincing 52-0 victory, completing the shutout and putting together a statement performance from start to finish. It was a night where everything came together for Klein, with the offense producing consistently and the defense refusing to give Klein Forest any room to respond.

Valor Christian vs Legend (CO)

Valor Christian came away with a dominant 42-0 win over their rivals Legend. Both teams were fired up coming into the game with multiple defensive stops. Valor Christians QB Titus Huard stirred the momentum when he found his way into the endzone giving Valor Christian the lead. Valor Christian took control of the first half after that forcing a fumble, which QB Huard snuck in for another rushing touchdown. Legends running backs and QB Braylon Aukland started to effectively execute their run game driving into the red zone. Valor Christian’s defense answered again this time picking off the Titans. The Eagles offensive dominance continued as they threw a passing touchdown right before the half. The Eagles momentum carried them through the game , with its offense running seamlessly and its defense forcing turnovers. Valor Christian’s QB Titus Huard was named the game’s MVP after a dominant game. With the win, Valor Christian moved to 4-1 against Legend since 2020.

Bergen Catholic vs Don Bosco (NJ)

Bergen Catholic put together a historic performance Saturday afternoon overcoming a 17-point halftime deficit to defeat Don Bosco Prep 34–30 in an unforgettable battle between two powerhouse programs. From the opening kickoff, both teams brought incredible energy and intensity. Don Bosco Prep came out firing and built a commanding 24–7 lead by halftime, putting Bergen Catholic in a difficult position heading into the second half, but the Crusaders refused to give up. Bergen Catholic’s offense came alive after halftime, consistently making explosive plays and finding ways to move the ball against the Don Bosco defense. The passing game produced several huge catches, with receivers coming through in critical moments to keep the comeback alive. Don Bosco Prep’s offense was equally impressive throughout the afternoon. The Ironmen consistently moved the ball and made big plays, putting pressure on the Bergen Catholic defense and helping build their early lead. As the second half continued, Bergen Catholic chipped away at the deficit. The Crusaders’ offense found its rhythm, while the defense made the stops it needed to give the team opportunities to complete the comeback. The game came down to a dramatic finish, with Bergen Catholic completing an incredible comeback from 7–24 down at halftime to earn a 34–30 victory. By the final whistle, both offenses had delivered an unforgettable performance filled with explosive plays and huge catches. It was Bergen Catholic’s historic second-half comeback that ultimately decided one of the most memorable games between the two rivals.

Cherry Hill East vs Cherry Hill West (NJ)

Welcome to Cherry Hill East Stadium in New Jersey, where 3,000 fans will gather for one of South Jersey's most storied high school showdowns—the Battle for the Boot between the Cherry Hill West Lions and the Cherry Hill East Cougars. First played in 1969, this intense crosstown rivalry has delivered decades of passion, pride, and unforgettable Friday nights. This year's clash will be featured in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, celebrating over 100 of the nation's greatest high school football rivalries. 

Cherry Hill East leads the all-time series 33–24 and brought the Boot home last season for the second year in a row with an impressive 49–7 victory. The rivalry's history runs even deeper, with NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham once suiting up for East and former NFL linebacker Gary Cobb making his mark at West—adding legendary names to this local classic.

Muskegon vs Mona Shores (MI)

Welcome to Hackley Stadium in Michigan, where 10,000 fans will pack the stands for one of the state's most tradition-rich showdowns between the Mona Shores Sailors and the Muskegon Big Reds. First played in 1965, this rivalry has defined Friday nights along the lakeshore for nearly six decades and will be featured in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, celebrating over 100 of the nation's greatest high school football matchups. 

Across 47 total meetings, Muskegon holds a commanding 38–9 series lead, fueled by decades of powerhouse teams and deep playoff runs. Last year, the Muskegon Big Reds defeated the Mona Shores Sailors under the lights at Sailor Stadium to claim the Great American Rivalry Series Trophy. The Big Reds also went on to defeat the Sailors in a high scoring affair playoff game last season. In the fall of 2024, the visiting Sailors shocked the Big Reds, with a 42-27 victory.

Blue Springs vs Rockhurst (MO)

Welcome to Peve Stadium, the stage for one of Missouri's most storied high school football rivalries, the Rockhurst Hawklets vs. the Blue Springs Wildcats. This highly anticipated showdown features two of the Show Me state's most successful programs and will be highlighted in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

The all-time series record sits at 34-27 in Blue Springs Favor. The Wildcats took last year's contest with a final score of 38-29. Last year's contest was action packed, highlighted by a 74-yard scoop and score touchdown from GARS MVP Devin Staley of Blue Springs, along with a Blue Springs pick-six to seal the deal late in the fourth quarter. The 62nd edition of this rivalry is set to be an intense one under the lights of Peve Stadium. 

Both Rockhurst and Blue Springs boast deep football traditions, including multiple state championships and decades of gridiron excellence. Each season, their rivalry draws thousands of fans, and this year promises to be no different.

Mount Spokane vs Mead (WA)

Welcome to Union Stadium in Mead, Washington, the site of the 35th edition of the "Battle of the Bell" between the hometown Mt. Spokane Wildcats and the visiting Mead Panthers. Dating back to 1998, this fierce rivalry has delivered thrilling moments year after year and will be featured as one of over 100 games in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

Going into the 2026 season, this series is tied 17-17. Last season, The Wildcats won a tight battle 16-14 in comeback fashion lead by GARS MVP, Cade Strocsher and bringing home the coveted Victory Bell. 

The bell symbolizes more than just a win—it stands for tradition, grit, and community pride in one of Washington's most spirited high school football rivalries.
