Welcome to Pioneer Memorial Stadium, just south of Portland, for one of Oregon’s most storied and intense rivalries—the “Battle of the Bridge” between the Oregon City Pioneers and the West Linn Lions. Dating back to 1921, this historic showdown is widely recognized as the longest continuously played high school football rivalry west of the Mississippi River. This year’s game will be featured in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, joining over 100 of the nation’s most iconic matchups.

The two schools have faced off 102 times, with West Linn recently taking the all-time series lead, 53–51-1, after back-to-back dominant wins, a 63–0 road victory in 2024 and a 49-14 home win in 2025. The Lions have controlled the rivalry in recent years, winning 13 straight and 21 of the last 23 meetings since 2004.

Get ready for, October 30th, when the 106th chapter of this century-old rivalry will be written. Will West Linn extend its winning streak, or will Oregon City rise to the occasion?

We Know Friday Nights.
