The newest installment of the Warren Central-Pike Rivalry was one of the best the series has ever seen. Warren Central started the game strong, forcing a 3 and out on defense before marching down the field and punching in their first rushing touchdown of the night. After both teams traded a couple of punts back and forth, Warren Central again pounded the rock, leading to the Warriors’ running back, and eventual game MVP, Keyon Thomas powering his way into the endzone for an early 14-0 lead. As expected, Pike was not going to just roll over, and took the ensuing kickoff to the house, cutting the Warren Central lead in half. The next drive saw the Warriors continue to do what worked all night, as a third rushing touchdown extended their lead in the second quarter. After a second kickoff return touchdown was called back for holding, the Pike QB kept it himself on an option play, speeding 65 yards for a touchdown to give the Red Devils some life. However, the last drive before halftime saw Warren Central quickly move down the field, as Keyon Thomas broke three tackles and found paydirt for the second time, giving the Warriors a 28-12 halftime lead. The third quarter brought a defensive battle, as neither team could get anything going. This culminated in Pike fumbling the ball at the 5-yard line just before the fourth quarter. Just as it seemed that the Warriors were going to run out the clock, the Red Devils found their groove. After a Warren Central fumble set them up with goal to go, Pike punched it in on 4th and goal to close the gap to 28-20. The Red Devils defense stepped up and forced another punt, giving Pike the ball with 2 minutes left, needing to go 75 yards to try and tie the game. After moving the ball down the field, a few costly penalties left the Red Devils with 8 seconds left, needing a miracle. Pike, refusing to go down without a fight as they had all game, converted on a hail mary as time expired, giving them a chance to send it to overtime, which they did, converting on another 2-point try. The Red Devils got the ball first in the extra period, holding all the momentum in their hands, but it was the Warriors’ turn for a big play, as they got a 4th down stop. With that, Warren Central got the ball and used their run game to position it exactly where they wanted on the field, bringing in their kicker to nail the game winning field goal to bring home an electric 31-28 victory.

With the defense forcing punts and three-and-outs, the Panthers’ offense continued to pour it on — extending the lead with a third Garcia touchdown pass and a final score on the ground to cap the rout. Permian’s special teams also made their presence felt early and often, with Tyran Williams returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown to set the tone for the night. The first half saw both teams locked in a physical chess match. Phoebus showed early promise, keeping the game close with a resilient defensive effort and a few early stops. Heading into halftime, the scoreboard reflected a tight contest, with both teams seemingly evenly matched.
But once the third quarter began, it was all Hampton. Hampton came out after halftime, immediately taking advantage of a Phoebus turnover to score on their first possession. That set the tone for the remainder of the game. The Crabbers’ offense shifted into high gear, led by Casey Lassiter, who proved to be an unstoppable force out of the backfield. His breakaway speed and vision shredded the Phoebus defense, resulting in multiple long runs and key touchdowns.
Phoebus, meanwhile, struggled to maintain momentum. But Hartford’s offense answered with a key rushing score, while their defense held firm over Rutland’s last few possessions, limiting big plays and closing off scoring opportunities. King continued to dominate both lines of scrimmage, making it tough for Payton to get any momentum. After an injury to their starting QB, Payton started gaining some momentum, leading a scoring drive to put some points on the board. But once again, the King ground attack put this game out of reach. The offense would quickly reward this with a rushing touchdown to take an early lead. However, the Tigers would respond fast as a long pass set up Gardiner with goal to go, leading to a rushing touchdown of their own to take a 7-6 lead. On the Rams ensuing possession, they found themselves with 4th and long, but going for it paid off as game MVP, QB Parker Morin, hit his man in stride for his first of 4 passing touchdowns to take the lead back. Gardiner again responded, this time with a field goal, to cut into the deficit, however, that would be their final points of the night. The Rams continued to force turnovers, setting up their offense with great field position throughout the night. The first half was capped off with a Cony trick play where a double pass found an open receiver to bring the halftime score to 27-10. Throughout the second half, the Rams defense continued to stifle the Tiger’s offense, as they finished the night with 5 interceptions, and closed the door on any potential comeback by recovering a Gardiner fumble in the endzone that brought the final score to 54-10. San Benito vs Harlingen (TX)

At Bobby Morrow Stadium on November 7, 2025, the Cardinals put together a complete performance to claim a 24-10 victory over the Greyhounds in the fierce “Battle of the Arroyo.” Harlingen wasted no time setting the tone, breaking through early with a long rushing touchdown to establish a 7-0 advantage in the first quarter. San Benito responded with a 33-yard field goal to cut the deficit to 7-3 by quarter’s end. In the second quarter, the Cardinals extended their lead with another score to take a 17-10 advantage into the second half. That momentum carried into the fourth quarter, where Harlingen sealed the win with a short-yardage rushing touchdown, bringing the final margin to 24-10. Defensively, Harlingen dominated the line of scrimmage, stifling San Benito’s attempts to climb back into the game. The Greyhounds’ offense struggled to generate sustained drives, while the Cardinals capitalized on scoring opportunities and controlled key phases of the game. For San Benito, the setback ends a challenging season trajectory and highlights areas for improvement as they evaluate deep into postseason hopes. Harlingen, on the other hand, gains a critical rivalry win and builds positive momentum moving forward.
