The Battle of Belt Line once again belonged to the DeSoto Eagles, who delivered a commanding 46–9 victory over the Cedar Hill Longhorns on Friday night. From the opening kickoff, DeSoto displayed why they remain one of the premier programs in Texas high school football, overwhelming their crosstown rival on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Legend Howell had a very efficient game with passing the ball and creating great plays that would later lead to touchdowns. Complementing Howell’s air attack was the powerful ground game anchored by the games MVP,  Sarod Baker, who ran with purpose all night. The DeSoto offense looked balanced, explosive, and in total control from start to finish. On the defensive side, DeSoto was just as impressive. The Eagles’ defense kept shutting down Cedar Hill’s rushing attack and applying relentless pressure on the quarterback. The Longhorns struggled to find any rhythm offensively, managing only a few big plays but never sustaining a drive. With this 46–9 win, DeSoto not only secures another victory in one of Texas’ most storied rivalries but also sends a clear message to the rest of the state: they’re a complete team with championship ambitions.
