The Saturday afternoon battle between the King Jaguars and Payton Grizzlies had the makings of a big time clash. With both teams qualified for the postseason, this game had the intensity of two teams looking to make a deep october run. The King Jaguars used their strong defense in the first half to build an early lead. They forced a fumble on the opening drive, intercepted another pass, and stopped the Grizzlies on multiple 4th downs. Eventual game MPV Jamar Lewis capped off the King Offense first drive with a short rushing touchdown, which set the tone for the rest of the game. King continued to dominate both lines of scrimmage, making it tough for Payton to get any momentum. After an injury to their starting QB, Payton started gaining some momentum, leading a scoring drive to put some points on the board. But once again, the King ground attack put this game out of reach. Jamar Lewis punched in his second TD of the game, making it a 22-3 win for the Jaguars.
