Pueblo Central @ Pueblo Centennial
Colorado
Considered the oldest rivalry West of the Mississippi river, these schools have been playing since 1892. “The Bell Game” draws one of the largest crowds with roughly 15,000 people regularly. Pueblo Centennial is looking to rebound from a 42-0 loss last season. The 122nd meeting is taking place this fall with Centennial as the hosts.
Eleanor Roosevelt @ Bowie
Maryland
The Bowie Bulldogs & Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders, a historic state of Maryland high school football rivalry since 1976 will play against each other again on October 7th, 2022. The Bowie Bulldogs have beaten the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders since the Fall of the 2019-2020 season. This came after losing to the Raiders in the 2018-2019 season but came back in 2019 to play the Raiders twice and were able beat them each time. Will the Bowie Bulldogs be able to keep their winning streak, or will the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders be able to recover this year?
Archbishop Hoban @ St. Vincent St. Mary
Ohio
The “Akron Holy War” resumes this fall as one of the games to remember year in and year out in the state of Ohio. Records go out the window when this game rolls around because each team shows up to play. The first meeting occurred in 1959 making this one of the oldest rivalries in the state. Archbishop pounced all over St. Vincent-St. Mary last season and look to continue their success at home this fall.
Cumberland Valley @ Central Dauphin
Pennsylvania
A rivalry that has been brewing since 1982, the Central Dauphin Rams & Cumberland Valley Eagles, an exciting state of Pennsylvania high school football rivalry will play against each other once again on October 7th, 2022. The Rams lost last season to the Eagles with a score of 24-17 but have previously kept a winning streak against the Eagles from 2017 to 2021. Will the Rams be able to recover from their loss last year or will the Eagles win again?
Valdosta @ Lowndes
Georgia
Two of the country’s perennial football powerhouses are set to face off against each other in another heated iteration of the “Winnersville Classic.” This rivalry began being played in 1968 following the opening of Lowndes high school. Lowndes currently sits on a five game winning streak over Valdosta; however, Valdosta holds the series lead with 37 wins to Lowndes’ 23. Valdosta, the nation’s all-time leader in wins, looks to get back to winning ways and snap Valdosta’s winning streak. Will this happen or will Lowndes continue their streak of dominance? Geneva @ Batavia
Illinois
One of the longest running football rivalries in Illinois, the Geneva Vikings and Batavia Bulldogs have battled it out over 100 times since the first meeting in 1913. Each team has gone through a stretch of dominance in the series, with Geneva winning nineteen in a row from 1967-1985, and Batavia currently on an eleven-game streak, winning each matchup dating back to 2011; however, the all-time record is still in favor of Geneva at 51-47-5. This year, the 104th matchup, is shaping up to be a good one, as Geneva hopes to break their losing streak and Batavia looks to continue their reign of dominance.
