The Great American Rivalry Series is comprised of the biggest high school football rivalries from around the country. At each game, the top scholar-athletes from each team are awarded a scholarship and a chance to make the Scholar-Athlete Hall of Fame Team. This team is in partnership with the Pro Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. The top 25 vote-getters will be honored with an extra $500 scholarship and a spot on the team as a result of their commitment to excellence on the field and in the classroom.
After four days of voting here is where we stand.
Leading the way is Hunter VanMeter from Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, Maryland. Hunter personifies what it means to be a member of the Sentinel family, as he is an all-star tackle on the field and an exceptional student in the classroom.
Trailing in second is Seth Miller from Dallastown High School in Dallastown, Pennsylvania. Along with holding down the front line at center, Seth works just as hard in the classroom where here has earned academic honors and a 4.5 GPA.
A strong showing from John Fiore from Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey. A team captain and starting linebacker who took home the Great American Rivalry Series game MVP, and is also a state-qualifying wrestler, John participates in Crusaders for Social Responsibility and Crusader Missions Club.
Currently in fourth place is Joseph Reali from Concord High School in Concord, North Carolina. Playing center on the field, Joseph is a member of the Beta Club, Leadership Class, and is the Class President.
Rounding out the top five is Sebastian Meriano from Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas. Sebastian is a true student-athlete as he is a wide receiver on the field and boasts a 4.54 GPA in the classroom.
Voting is open until Tuesday, December 14th at 11:59 PM EST and is not restricted so continue to vote early and often!
