Danny is part of the Mitchell family legacy at Hampton High. His grandfather was the Crabbers’ trainer, his father played on the team, and Danny was captain of the 1969 championship team and has served as head coach since 1977. He has led the Crabbers to 10 State Championship titles and has coached in all of the Hampton/Phoebus games. Danny’s son, Matthew, continued the family football tradition as captain and quarterback for the 2007 team.
