Asante participated in two varsity Holy Bowl contests leading Christian Brothers to a 21-6 victory over the Marauders’ in 2009. In that matchup, Cleveland recorded two catches for 17 yards and a touchdown to seal the victory. The Tight-End led Christian Brothers to a 7-3 overall record and a berth in the Sac Joaquin Section playoffs. Asante continued his football career by completing 4 years at the University of Miami before moving on to the National Football League where he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Francisco 49ers. Cleveland has split his five NFL seasons between the 49ers, New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Chargers. Asante could not be in attendance tonight as he is continuing to pursue his professional football career. Accepting the award on his behalf are his parents, Allen & Javetta Cleveland.
