Ralph played on the state championship team that defeated Cherry Hill East and in 1977 and 1978, he was chosen to be n the WOBM, Daily Observer, and the Asbury Park Press All-County teams. His two-year varsity total on receptions totaling 638 yards. He credits Coach Signorino Sr had a great effect on him, who said these kind words about him. “Ralph was an over-achiever because of his work ethic, his commitment to excellence, and his desire to please and be successful.”
