Bill Rankin

Toms River South (NJ)

Bill Rankin quarterbacked the “Hitting Indians” to three consecutive victories over the Mariners during seasons 1996, 1997 and 1998. His most outstanding performance was during his senior year when he directed an option attack that resulted in a 49-10 victory for the Indians. In the ’98 game, he personally accumulated close to 400 yards rushing and passing. Accolades acquired by Bill that year were as follows: 1) First team All-County quarterback; 2) First team All-Shore quarterback, and 3) Third team All-State Quarterback, and 4) was named Ocean County’s Offensive Player of the Year. He personally led Toms River South to their season best record of 11 wins and 1 loss. He is referred to as one of the best football captains in school history. Upon graduation he attended Monmouth College and quarterbacked the Hawks for three season. Currently he is back at Toms River South as an Assistant coach
