Ken Oxendine

Thomas Dale (VA)

Ken played football for Thomas Dale from 1991-1994. He was a three-year starter at tailback and linebacker as well as team captain his senior year. He earned multiple All District, All Region, and All State awards. He was voted Virginia State Player of the Year his senior year, Gatorade’s National Player of the Year, and USA Parade Player of the Year. He scored the winning TD in 1992 to defeat Bird in the playoffs. Ken went on to Virginia Tech, where he played tailback for four years. He played two seasons in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons before retiring. He now coaches in Atlanta and runs the Ken Oxendine Foundation, which helps local high school athletes in their pursuit to go to college.
