CLASS OF 2018

Ed Pilcher

Thomas Central

Coach Pilcher began coaching the Yellow Jackets in 1991 and, in just two seasons, led them to their first ever state title in 1992. He then followed it up by winning two more in ’93 and ’94, then going for 5 of 6 by adding the ’96 & ’97 titles as well. He finished his career at Thomas Central with an overall record of 169-54. Included in those wins were a dozen victories over rival Thomasville, including the legendary 14-12 win in the 1993 state championship game, which marked the first time that two teams from the same county played for a state title. Coach Pilcher was inducted into the Georgia Coaches Hall of Fame in 2017. He now resides in Nashville with his wife, Lorraine.
