Tom Lyman graduated from Piqua High School in 1965, after an outstanding football career as a running back and defensive end winning multiple awards for his achievements. In his Senior year, Piqua defeated Troy 20-0, and Tom scored all 20 of Piqua’s points.
Tom is the first of 3 generations to participate in the Troy rivalry. In 1968 he married his high school sweetheart, Joyce, a Piqua football cheerleader. Their daughter played in the Piqua ‘Marching 74’ and their three sons were all recognized as All-League players for the Piqua Red and Blue. Tom and Joyce’s grandson Noah, is a Senior, wearing #16 tonight.
