Travis was a member of the Nathan Hale football team where he played wide out and receiver. Travis was an excellent football player. As a wide out Travis had 2 receptions for 60 yards and 2 touchdowns. On defense he had 5 tackles and a 105 yard interception returned for a touchdown, this was the play that leads Nathan Hale to victory in the rivalry game over Central.
