Kyle played in the Columbus North-Columbus East rivalry as the Bulldogs starting quarterback as a junior and senior. In 2010, Kyle completed 12 of 17 passes for 143 yards as CN prevailed 42-21. In 2011, Kyle ran for one touchdown and threw for another while completing 14 of 20 for 163 yards in a 45-40 triumph. At the end of that season, Kyle was named a Scholar- Athlete Award winner for the national Football Foundation. He went on to play in 18 games over three seasons as a member of the Ball State University Football Team.
