Brent played in the Elbert-Hart Rivalry for five seasons, 1966-1970 playing defensive and offensive tackle. Graduating from Elbert County High School in 1970. Brent then attended, played football and graduated from the University of Tennessee — Chattanooga. Starting all four years as an offensive guard and offensive tackle. Brent was selected as a Little All American in 1974. Brent was named

Chattanooga’s Most Valuable Player in 1974. Brent was drafted in 1975 in the 8th round of the NFL Draft for the Atlanta Falcons. He started as an offensive guard and offensive tackle for the three seasons he was with the Atlanta Falcons. Brent played his final season in 1979 with the Los Angeles Rams where he started as an offensive guard.
