Brendan Looney played in the rivalry his sophomore, junior, and senior years. He was the co-captain of the 1998 DeMatha team and led his team to victory over Good Counsel 35-0 with three receptions and eight tackles. He went on to the Naval Academy and played varsity lacrosse, leading his team to the NCAA finals his senior year. In September 2010, Brendan was killed in a helicopter accident in Afghanistan while serving his country as a Navy SEAL. His family is pictured accepting the award on his behalf.
