David Howerton

Asheville (NC)

David was the backup QB in his Junior season but entered the Asheville-Reynolds game in 2011 late in the 2nd Quarter with Asheville trailing 29-0. He orchestrated a late first half drive resulting in touchdown just before halftime. The momentum carried over into the 2nd half with Asheville behind the arm of David, leading Asheville to a 35-29 victory, setting a school record for the biggest comeback victory in school history. In 2012, David’s senior season at home this time, a game that saw lead changes with Reynolds taking a lead late in the 4th quarter. Howerton completed a 70 yard TD Pass to Danquires Green with 18 seconds to go in the game to give the cougars and Howerton two consecutive dramatic come from behind victories against the rival Rockets. David is currently a backup QB at Wofford in Spartanburg, SC and plays on the Terrior special teams.
