In his Freshman Year, Ryan Mazzie put his football career on hold so he could donate his bone marrow to save his sister’s life. His first experience as a varsity quarterback was here at Sachem North during Ryan’s Junior Year. In that game, Ryan came off the bench to throw for a Bay Shore school record 6 touchdown passes. At the conclusion of Ryan’s football career at Bay Shore he held many of school’s passing records. In 2014, Ryan was inducted into the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame, he was honored as a News 12 scholar athlete, he was 1 of only 4 students in the entire Tri-State area to be chosen by ESPN as a High School MVP, and he was the male recipient of the 2014 Dellecave Award given to the top student athlete in Suffolk County. He currently attends Villanova University where he is a sophomore.
