Westlake

Ryan Van Ert is an offensive lineman for the Westlake varsity football team. He is also a member of the track & field team, where he competes in discus. He is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in many community outreach organizations. He plans to attend UT McCombs School of Business. Ryan is pictured his mother and father, Jeanette and Jay Van Ert.
Kyle Connell

Lake Travis

From Lake Travis, Kyle Connell is a two-year letterman who has received the All District Award. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Gifted and Talented Program, and qualifier for National Merit Scholar consideration. Kyle was selected to attend the Naval Academy Summer Seminar, a delegate to American Legion’s Boys State, and a senator to American Legion Boys’ National in Washington DC this summer. He is active in his youth group at LTUMC, participating in youth missions and other volunteer activities. He hopes to attend the Naval Academy or Stanford to study engineering. Kyle is pictured with his parents, Clint and Andrea Connell.

GAME SUMMARY

Westlake dominated the first half, and wound up leading 15-10 at the half. Westlake scored again on a 60-yard pass in the third. The 46 game win streak of Lake Travis looked vulnerable for the first time since 2007 when it suffered its last loss to Westlake. Lake Travis took the second half, completing two more touchdowns for the win.
