On a cold, gray Saturday afternoon in Islip Terrace, New York the East Islip Redmen renewed their cross-town rivalry with the West Islip Lions. West Islip senior quarterback and game MVP Scott Mattera led the Lions to victory 35-14. Mattera rushed for 109 yards and threw for two touchdowns in the second half to break the game open

GAME SUMMARY

The game, the 31st in the series, stayed close throughout the first half with both teams battling the wind, the rain, and each other for scoring opportunities.
