Mark your calendars for the Circle City Showdown at Warrior Stadium on September 20th, 2024, where the Warren Central Warriors will clash with the Ben Davis Giants in their historic 100th matchup. 

These are two of Indiana’s largest high school programs, uniting their communities for a spirited and longstanding rivalry. Dating back to 1937, Warren Central holds the edge in the series at 58-38-3.  

In their last meeting, Ben Davis secured a thrilling 31-28 victory with a dramatic last-minute field goal, leaving Warren Central with a tough defeat. With an expected attendance of 4,000 fans and the significance of this being the 100th game between the two schools, anticipation is high for this historic rivalry.  

The 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series eagerly anticipates this matchup, promising an intense battle that Friday night football fans won’t want to miss.

Cam is a 3-year starter. He has already committed to continue his athletic and academic career at Iowa University. He has broken and set numerous weightlifting records at Warren Central. He is one of the captains this season and a leader within our school.

Ben Davis

Mark is a 4-year letter winner for both basketball and football. In basketball, he was the 2023 Hall of Fame classic MVP, 4A State Champion, and leading scorer in the state game. In football, he was the 2023 6A State Champion and had a touchdown catch. He was recognized as one of the 2023 Top 50 All-State. He is also a 2024 Indiana Football Digest Pre-Season Top 25.

GAME SUMMARY

The 100th meeting of the "Circle City Showdown lived up to the hype. Both teams came ready and fought with everything they had. The first half was a competitve start with both teams getting on the board early. Right as a weather delay hit, the Ben Davis Giants tied the game at 10-10. Entering the second half, the defenses starting causing havoc. Both teams were plagued by multiple turnovers. Warren Central scored a late touchdown to tie the game at 21. As time expired, Ben Davis had a chance to kick a field goal to win. The Warrior defense managed to block the kick sending the game into overtime. On each teams first possession, the defenses forced turnovers, sending the game into another OT session. Warren Central forced Ben Davis to kick a field goal, giving the Warrior's offense one more chance to tie or win the game. The Warriors gave the ball to Kendall Gardiner who punched it in for the walk-off win!
