Played since 1968, “The Winnersville Classic” is here yet again this Friday night. Valdosta has historically dominated the series, especially considering they are the leading high school football team in the nation.

However, as Valdosta holds the historical edge, Lowndes has recently been up to the challenge that Valdosta presents. Lowndes decimated the Wildcats from Valdosta 71-35 last season. This Friday night, Valdosta will look to get back on top.

JOHN/BRYER was chosen for the 2018 scoutSMART All-Academic Team and 1st Team All-Region 1-7A. He is an active member in the Lowndes County 4H with master status. JOHN/BRYER is also a member of FCA, Beta Club, Class Cabinet, and National English Honor Society. He plans to attend college and play football.
Jylon Bennet

Valdosta High School

Jylon was a recipient of the Georgia Certificate of Merit and is ranked in top 5 percent of his graduation class with a 99.19 GPA. He is the treasurer of the VHS Beta Club and a member of the Future Business Leaders of America.

GAME SUMMARY

This match-up played out in front of a sold-out crowd in Martin Stadium for the “Winnersville classic” The Lowndes Vikings made the first strike with a touch from Israel Mitchell. The Valdosta Wildcats defense was able to make a crucial stop on a third down in the second quarter but were unable to convert with a good position on the field. Just when it looked like the Wildcats were going to score, the Vikings got a pick 6 and returned it for a touchdown. This game was all Vikings with a final score of 24-0.
