Austin is a 4-year CSF member, has played football and baseball all four years and earned all-league recognition last spring in baseball. He has volunteered for 4 years at the V Foundation and has been on the honor roll every year at Napa High School.

Travis is a 2-year letterman on the football team and has played football all four years. Travis currently carries a 4.06 GPA and plays the saxophone in the schools’ jazz band. He also earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. Travis is unsure where we would like to attend college, however he wants to study math.

Tim Mulligan

Napa

Tim retired from teaching after 31 years, many of which were spent coaching Napa. He took over the JV football program where he remained head coach for three seasons before joining the Varsity squad as the defensive line coach. Tim was a great motivator to his players, talking to them about what it took to be a Napa High Indian. He instilled in them the importance of having pride and respect for Napa High. He helped to guide the Indians to 11 league championships in football, as well as two section championship games.
Curt Siscel

Vacaville

Curt played in the rivalry game in 1980 to 1982 as an offensive and defensive lineman on the varsity team. In these games, Vacaville won 2 out of the 3 games, his senior year Vacaville won 13-12. Most of the running success at Vacaville during his years on varsity was done with Curt paving the way. He finished his senior year with All-League honors and was the 1983 CIF state champion shot with a winning throw and school record of 63’ 9 1/2”. After high school, Curt went on to play football at the University of Washington and later came back to Vacaville and helped coach. He currently works as a diesel mechanic with Reliable Trucking.

GAME SUMMARY

Napa answered Vacaville’s game-tying touchdown, a 6-yard run by Timothy Jackson with 5:13 to go, with an 80-yard scoring drive in seven plays. The key plays were Spinelli’s 12-yard pass to Kale Olmstead and Spinelli’s 31-yard run on a keeper to the Vacaville 11-yard line. Quarterback Austin Spinelli– who was also the MVP, wide receiver Alex Perez de Leon and the rest of the offensive unit executed the play beautifully. Rolling out to his right, Spinelli connected with Perez de Leon on a 5-yard touchdown pass in the south end zone with just 2:09 to go. Vacaville had one last chance. Taking over on its 23-yard line, the Bulldogs were able to move the ball close to midfield. But on a fourth and 13 from their 37-yard line, Napa’s Leo Rodriguez recovered a fumble after a completed pass with 46.8 seconds to go. Napa then ran out the clock. and Napa held off Vacaville, 28-21, in a key Monticello Empire League game at Memorial Stadium.
