The rivalry between Proctor and Rome Free Academy is one of the longest rivalries in the nation, dating back to 1891. To both sides, this is a passionate – and sometimes heated – rivalry. Residents from both Rome and Utica gather for this game every season, looking for bragging rights for the year.

Proctor is 3-2 so far this season while Rome Free Academy comes into the game at 0-5, but new head coach Jake DerCola hopes to lead the team to a victory after they lost to Proctor last year 48-7. Regardless of previous wins, new coaches, and national rankings, all who are familiar with this rivalry know that anything can happen under the lights.
