The 62nd matchup between Tuscola and Pisgah proved that there is no love lost between the two schools, as Pisgah brought home the Haywood County Clash trophy for the second season in a row. The Black Bears started off strong, as they received the opening kickoff and drove for over half of the first quarter, with eventual game MVP Landon Pope running the ball in for his first touchdown of the night. After forcing a quick punt, Pisgah once again fed the ball to Landon Pope, who found the endzone for the second time in as many possessions. Tuscola refused to just roll over, as they marched down the field and punched in a rushing touchdown of their own just before half, making it 14-7 at the break. The Black Bear defense started strong in the second half, forcing another punt, leading to the 3rd touchdown of the game for Landon Pope. After a couple of fumbles, the game started to get chippy, with both teams going at one another, but Landon Pope put that to rest, as he plowed though the Mountaineers and showed off his breakaway speed with an 84-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 28-7. Tuscola would answer back with a quick possession ending in a passing touchdown, but Pisgah shut the door, as WR Mason Putnam caught the final score of the game on a 31-yard touchdown pass. On the back of Landon Pope, who finished the night with 289 yards and 4 touchdowns, the Black Bears literally and figuratively ran away with a 35-14 victory in the County Clash.
