GAME SUMMARY

Aquinas blocked two punts and its defense recorded a key interception by Great American Rivaly MVP LB Velvario Faulkner, which led to Aquinas junior running back Devonta’e Henry Cole sweeping around to the left side for a 7-yard touchdown run to put Aquinas ahead 20-12 late in the fourth quarter. Miramar had won the previous three years by a combined 10 points, including twice in overtime, and was trying to become the first public school to beat St. Thomas four consecutive times in the regular season since Dillard (1987-90) Instead, it turned into a fantastic finish for St. Thomas, which scored 13 unanswered in the final eight minutes to beat Miramar 20-12 Saturday night on the Patriots’ home field.
