The 47th playing of the annual rivalry game between St. Joseph’s High School and St. Francis High School will go down in the record books as one of the greatest finishes in the history of the series. The capacity crowd of 1,275 was on their feet for the entire game as both teams battled to the bitter end of the game. It took a play for the ages by Great American Rivalry Series Game Most Valuable Player #11 Joshua Jackson to secure the victory for the St. Joseph Marauder’s 34-30.

GAME SUMMARY

The game was tightly fought deep into the fourth quarter when St. Francis took the lead with 4:35 to play 30-28. St. Joseph’s failed to move the ball and turned the ball back over to St. Francis with 2:00 to go and would seal the victory by simply running out the clock. But on 3rd down with :45 seconds to go, Game MVP Joshua Jackson recovered a St. Francis fumble and raced 55 yards for the game winning touchdown for St. Joseph’s and sealed a victory for the ages 34-30.
