This rivalry game dates back to 1966 and is known as the “Holy Bowl”. This is the single most attended football game in the San Diego area and most talked about game all year between the two schools. This is the annual game between Cathedral Catholic and St. Augustine where both schools and media look forward to the match-up between these two teams.

GAME SUMMARY

St. Augustine got the ball first and went 80 yards with Tyler Herburger's 2-yard TD run capping off a nine-minute drive. Then after Chris Moliga scored with his own 2-yard TD run to tie the game, Jo Jo Hudson hit Ethan Sanchez with a 75-yard strike to give St. Augustine the lead for good. Elijah Preston ran for 114 yards and a 40-yard score to be named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player. Hudson finished with 187 yards. Moliga ran for 83 yards and a TD for the Dons, who lead the all-time series 31-20 and had won 27 of the last 39 match-ups.
