The Homestead Broncos and the South Dade Buccaneers fought for bragging rights at the “Battle of Lucy Street” in front of over 4,000 fans that attended the game. The “Battle of Lucy Street” was named from the road that divides the five mile radius between the two schools.

After a quiet first quarter by both teams, South Dade got on the scoreboard first with a 53 yard touchdown pass. It was a battle of the athletes as both schools, heavy with college prospects, stayed after each other until South Dade pulled forward and won the game 34-21.
