Two of the top 6A teams in the state meet again this fall! After last years intense quarterfinal match where Lakeville South pulled it out by a score of 42-28, the Sabers of Shakopee are coming for blood. These teams often meet in the state quarterfinals, this is a rare treat to see them in regular season action. Lakeville South looks to win its fourth straight against the Sabers this October.

Wyatt Ronn is toughness personified. Playing as a linebacker on offensive line and achieving a 4.42 GPA! His intelligence, grit and work ethic make him a top linebacker in the state. He has transformed himself into an amazing player and is a great person off the field. We're proud of him!
Hunter Grommesch

Shakopee

Hunter Grommesch is a defensive back and is currently the leading tackler for the Shakopee Sabers. He has been playing football since he could pick up a ball, playing many positions over the years. Hunter is consistently on the high school honor roll and his work ethic and determination both on and off the field are truly worthy of honor. He gives back to his community and is an all-around role model for future Sabers. He plans to attend college and major in engineering or business management.

GAME SUMMARY

It was a cold and windy night in Minnesota as the Shakopee Sabers traveled to face the Lakeville South Cougars in this Rivalry match-up. In the first quarter, the Cougars took the early lead 7-3. The Cougars scored again before the half, sending Lakeville into the locker room ahead 14-3. With 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, both teams put another 7 on the board to head into the 4th with a score of 21-10. The Cougars landed another TD in the fourth and took the victory with a final score of 28-10.
