The Bonita vs. San Dimas game is on of the best games in the San Gabriel and is the longest running rivalry in the area. The Bearcats and the Saints face off each year to see who will take home the Smudgepot, a trophy the winning team gets to keep until next seasons match-up. Bonita has won the last two games between these two teams and were looking to make it three straight victories in 2014.

Chris is a three year letterman with football and was a key piece of the 2013 CIF Championship team. Chris is also part of the ASB and serves as the Boys Athletic Commissioner.

GAME SUMMARY

This was a close and exciting game throughout the evening between two 3-1 teams fighting for first place in the CIF standings. Bonita came out ready to play and made the Saints pay for two first half fumbles leading to a 14-7 score in favor of the Bearcats going into halftime. San Dimas was not about to give up easily though. They came out and scored a 40 yard rushing touchdown with over nine minutes left in the third quarter evening up the score at 14 each. Great American Rivalry Series MVP Angel Verdugo wanted this win though; after scoring two big rushing touchdowns in the first half he finished the game off with a six yard touchdown run to seal the game. The game ended with a score of 23-14 with MVP Angel Verdugo rushing for 165 yards and three touchdowns.
