The rivalry between Proctor and Rome Free Academy is one of the longest rivalries in the nation, dating back to 1891. To both sides, this is a passionate – and sometimes heated – rivalry. Residents from both Rome and Utica gather for this game every season, looking for bragging rights for the year. The series record barely sits in the Raiders favor with them only holding one additional win over the Black Knights heads.  With this rivalry know that anything can happen under the lights.

Saleh Eltayeb

Proctor High School

Saleh is a 3-year starter, team leader, and model student-athlete. He leads on and off the field. He is also a sectional champion and state qualifier in the long jump and triple jump. Saleh is a member of the National Honor Society and has his pick of colleges and universities to further his academic and athletic career.
Aidan Hunzinger

Rome Free Academy

Aidan is a 3 sport a thlete for RFA. He is a 2-year letterman for varsity football, 2-year letterman for varsity basketball, and a 3-year letterman for varsity golf. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America. Aidan is undecided on which college he will attend but looking to study sports journalism or broadcasting.

GAME SUMMARY

The series record continues to sit in the Raiders favor today through a 50-14 blowout. Proctor was the first to put a number on the board tonight with an early touchdown, but Rome Free Academy put themselves in the lead early in the first quarter with an 80 yard touchdown. Despite this, Utica Proctor was able to take the lead again 14-7 with a touchdown and a successful two point conversion. While Rome Free managed to score another touchdown in the second quarter to tighten the spread, Utica Proctor received the following kick off for another touchdown, and headed into halftime with a lead of 34-14. Unfortunately for Rome Free, Utica kept the momentum, and ended the game with a blowout lead of 50-14.
