The rivalry between the Rockhurst Hawklets and Blue Springs Wildcats has been around since 1990. Both coaches cautioned that rankings and current standing meant very little for this rivalry. Last year, the two schools battled it out in a close game that resulted in only a one-point difference. In the end, the Hawlets defended their title by taking home the 14-13 victory.

Blue Springs extended their lead in the 3rd quarter with a field goal of their own making it 17-10. There was no quit in Rockhurst as they scored late in the 4th quarter but failed on a two point conversion attempt resulting in their one point deficit.
