The Phoebus vs. Hampton game is by far the biggest game in the Hampton, VA area and is known to be one of most anticipated games in the state each year. These two teams play annually at Darling Stadium with the Hampton Crabbers leading the series 30-16. Although the Crabbers lead the series the Phoebus Phantoms have had the upper hand of late taking 9 of the last 12 contests.

GAME SUMMARY

Although Hampton won the toss and began the game with the ball, they were unable to get off to the start they would need to put up a fight against the more athletic Phoebus team. The game was very competitive with a score of 6-0 at the half after Phoebus put together a nice drive capped off by a long TD run. The second half was much of the same however; The Crabbers were unable to move the ball most of the night and the Phantoms tacked on another TD off a 15 yard pass on fourth down. Phoebus was lead to a 19-8 victory over he Hampton Crabbers by Running Back and MVP Jomari Becnel who went for 217 yards.
