Under the Friday Night Lights of Roanoke, VA, the Patrick Henry Patriots took down the William Fleming Colonels to bring home the Mayor’s Cup. The first half of the game was controlled by Patrick Henry as their defense continuously shut down the Colonels, highlighted by a goal line stand on 4th down. The Patriot offense finally broke through, as eventual MVP Demerion Purdue punched in 2 touchdowns on the ground to take a 14-0 lead into halftime. William Fleming attempted a comeback in the second half, as they finally got on the board with a safety, but it proved to be too little too late, as the Patriots controlled the game from there to bring home a 14-2 victory and the Mayor’s Cup.
