The Brookwood Broncos defeated their arch rival from just down the road the Parkview Panthers on Friday night in front of more than 7,000 fans in the “Battle of Five Forks – Trickum” one of the fiercest rivalries in all of Georgia. Both Brookwood and Parkview came into the game winless, a product of brutal opening schedules, but the opportunity to get the first win of the season against the arch-rival was not lost on either team.

GAME SUMMARY

Both teams came out determined not to get beat on defense, and this led to a battle over every single yard to be gained on the field. The defenses held firm for most of the night, but one aspect of Brookwood’s offense would lead them to victory. Jesse Brown, the younger brother of former starter Josh Brown who is out for the season following a torn ACL in the season opener, shone brightest on this stage carrying the ball 27 times for 171 yards and a touchdown to garner the Great American Rivalry Series MVP award. Brown and quarterback Joey McLane led the Broncos to a 10-0 victory over their rivals on a beautiful fall night in suburban Atlanta.
