The Brookwood versus Parkview game was more than a fitting final example of the impact of classic high school football rivalries on their community. Brookwood had the better record, but Parkview came to play. So did a throng of fans who arrived at 3:00pm and began tailgating for the Senior Night finale of their favorite teams.

The underdog Parkview gave the hometown Brookwood all it could handle. You could see the angst in the eyes of the Brookwood fans as Parkview held their team out of the end zone. The game was not decided until there was less than three minutes to go in the game and Brookwood made the final defensive play to stop a marching Parkview.
