Over 12,000 fans showed up on Friday night for the 15th ranked Patriots of Parkersburg South played host to the 5th ranked Big Reds from Parkersburg. This game is traditionally billed as the game of the year in West Virginia.

GAME SUMMARY

The 2011 version of the game was a defensive struggle from start to finish with the Patriots defense led by Junior linebacker and Great American Rivalry Series MVP Mack White, shutting out the powerful Big Red offense. Coach Bolen's defense, led by WHite's 2 sacks and 6 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, completely shut down the Big Red passing attack and forcing Parkersburg QB Alex Ash to only 97 yards passing and one interception. In the end, Parkersburg South took this one easily 17-0.
