The 68th meeting between the Page Pirates and the Grimsley Whirlies saw the Whirlies win their 7th in a row over their rivals. The game started as a back-and-forth battle, as Page struck first with a long rushing touchdown from quarterback Anthony Johnson. After a response in the form of a rushing touchdown from the Grimsley offense, the Whirlies defense stepped up, with a big pick-6 to take an early 13-7 lead. The Pirates quickly responded as Anthony Johnson broke a tackle then found a receiver for a 72-yard touchdown pass to take a 14-13 lead. From there, it was all Grimsley as they scored 35 unanswered points to close out the game. With Faizon Brandon, the star quarterback for the Whirlies, not playing due to injury, freshman Brody Lowe had the offense looking unstoppable, as he threw for 274 yards and 4 touchdowns. Running back, and game MVP, Ty Shoemake made his mark on the game as well, as he found the endzone twice, helping lead Grimsley to a dominant 48-14 victory.
