One of the most heated and competitive rivalries in the country, Mona Shores and Muskegon produced one of the best games of the season. Both teams are extremely successful, which creates an incredible atmosphere. Mona Shores won two seasons agon enroute to an undefeated state championship season. Muskegon got revenge last year by winning by 21 points. These schools are predicted to both have very good teams again this season with this rivalry game circled on their calendars.

Seth is a member of the national honor society, student leadership, Theatre, Rotary Clubs, Homecoming Court, a three-sport athlete. Upon graduation, Seth wants to pursue education and become a teacher.
Sam Wahlberg

Mona Shores

Sam is a three-year varsity letterman on the football team. Outside of football Sam is an avid hunter and fisher. He is also a member of the power lifting team. Upon graduation Sam is considering potentially continuing his football career in college while also pursuing construction management.

GAME SUMMARY

After both teams held each other scoreless for most of the first half, Muskegon quarterback M’khi Guy took it himself to get the Big Reds on the board first. Moments later, Mona Shores running back Dahmir Farnum gave the Sailors the lead, 7-6. The teams exchanged touchdowns in the 2nd to head to the halftime break knotted at 14. After the Sailers jumped out to a 21-14 lead, the Big Red rattled off 14 straight to jump out to the 35-28 lead. As play continued, with the score 41-35 in favor on Muskegon, the Big Reds scored 14 straight again en route to a 55-35 victory. Guy was awarded our MVP after a four-touchdown performance.
