The 2021 matchup of Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits and the Mission Viejo Diablos will be the first installment of the rivalry series since 2017, when Mission Viejo took the victory in a low-scoring affair at 12-7. In a shorten season, the Jackrabbits went 4-0 and the Diablos finished with a 4-1 record. Both teams are looking forward to renewing this rivalry game as the meet on the gridiron on September 3rd.

Shea is a true scholar and champion on and off the football field. He’s been a 4-year Long Beach Poly football player, a 3-year varsity letterman, & is a 2-year varsity starter & team captain. He is a role model as he recognizes that school comes first and currently holds a 4.25 weighted GPA. Shea is being recognized as a top nationwide student-athlete and continues to be a spark plug for Long Beach Poly.
Jake Higgins

Jake is a 2-year varsity letterman on the Mission Viejo football team. While playing football, he is taking on a rigorous academic work-load at MVHS. Jake is the definition of a student-athlete as he currently maintains a 4.34 weighted GPA. He is a true role model to the next Diablo generation. Jake plans to play college football for an undecided university next year.

GAME SUMMARY

Mission Viejo jumped out to a 14-0 lead early in the game. However, a touchdown by Long Beach Poly's Devin Samples made things interesting. The Diablos would regroup at halftime, outscoring Long Beach Poly 27-7 in the second half, helping them move past the Jackrabbits, 41-14. Kenny Manassero dominated running the ball, finishing with three touchdowns on the ground for Mission Viejo.
