On Friday, November 1, 2024, the Lowndes Vikings and Valdosta Wildcats will renew their historic rivalry at Joe Wilson Field at Martin Stadium in the 63rd meeting of the “Winnersville Classic.” Since their first clash in 1967, this intense matchup has captivated fans, drawing 12,000 passionate spectators each year. The anticipation is palpable as both teams prepare to battle it out in front of a raucous crowd. 

The Wildcats hold 39-23 lead in the all-time series and are eager to defend their Winnersville Classic Trophy, which has stayed in Valdosta for the past two years. Last year’s thrilling 37-27 victory saw quarterback Todd Robinson earn MVP honors, highlighting the high stakes and fierce competition that define this rivalry. 

This game is part of the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series, showcasing the best in high school football rivalries across the country. The series celebrates the tradition, intensity, and community pride that games like the Winnersville Classic embody. With both teams determined to claim victory, the stage is set for another unforgettable chapter in this yearly showdown.

He has taken five AP classes and one dual enrollment course, showcasing his dedication to academic excellence. A member of the football team since freshman year, Lorenzo also volunteers in the community, always striving to make a positive impact on others. Currently working part-time at Cupworks, with plans to continue his education by studying engineering at the University of Florida.

Dylan was named a Georgia Merit Scholar for his 11th-grade year in recognition of being in the top 10% of his class. He continues to excel academically, maintaining his position in the top 10%. Dylan plans to attend a four-year college to pursue a career in pharmacy, with his top choice being the University of Georgia (UGA). If not UGA, his next choice is Valdosta State University (VSU).
