Longview overcame an early deficit to secure a 20–7 win over Marshall in their annual rivalry matchup. After falling behind 7–0 in the first quarter, Longview responded with a pair of rushing touchdowns in the second, capitalizing on a long, methodical drive and a key fumble recovery. The defense tightened up in the second half, holding Marshall scoreless and limiting their possessions, while a fourth-quarter field goal helped seal the victory. It was a physical, grind-it-out performance marked by strong defensive pressure, efficient quarterback play, and a steady ground game. The win marked Longview’s tenth straight in the series and pushed them to 2–0 on the season, while Marshall dropped to 1–1.
