This year’s meeting marks the 108th time these two Texas powerhouses will have met. Longview has dominated the series in recent years, but second year head coach at Marshall Claude Mathis will be looking to continue his rebuild of the Mavericks and leap forward with a win over their arch rival Lobos from Longview.

Longview had a hugely successful 2017, eventually losing in the Texas state semi-final. They’ll be looking to continue that excellence and build on it with a win over their rivals, the Mavericks from Marshall.
