Lecanto vs. Citrus is a long standing rivalry in the state of Florida. The rivalry began in 1987 and has a current standing favoring the Hurricanes, 28-4. The Citrus Hurricanes swept away the Lecanto Panthers in last year’s battle 42-0, making them the reigning champs. This season, Lecanto has a shot at redemption and the chance to earn bragging rights.

Cameron is a two year letterman on the Football and Citrus state championship team. Cameron is also a member of the fellowship of the Christian Athletes. Cameron is currently holding a 4.2 GPA. Presenting the award is Sgt Myers, Congratulations Cameron!!
Sean Rubey

Lecanto High School

Sean is a three year letterman in football and weight lifting. Sean also won the defensive player of the week against Wachee. Sean plans to attend The Apprentiee School next Fall. Sean is currently holding a 4.0 GPA Presenting the award is Sgt Myers, Congratulations Sean!!

GAME SUMMARY

Lecanto fell behind 20-0 after the the Hurricanes explosive offensive first quarter, but managed to get on the board earfly in the second half with a touchdown of their own. Citrus was never threatened ultimately beating the Panthers 42-7 led by their MVP, TJ Weems Jr. It was the second year in a row that Citrus put up 42 points and they now lead the series 29-4.
