This rivalry game dates back to 1928 and is one of Rhode Island’s most prestigious rivalries. This is the single most attended football game in Rhode Island on Thanksgiving and most talked about game all year between the two schools. The teams meet each year in the oldest intra-state rivalry in the country, dating back to 1929. In the 2012 edition of the series, La Salle shut out the Townies 34-0, pushing their record in the series to 47-35-2. In the upcoming 85th game in the matchup, East Providence will try to win over the Rams for the first time in 6 years.
