Foyle-King Field is set to host a clash of suburban football titans on October 20 as the Lancaster Legends take on the Depew Wildcats in a heated rivalry matchup. The game, which marks the 20th season of the Great American Rivalry Series, is sure to ignite the passions of fans from both sides of the field.

With a longstanding history dating back 94 meetings, this matchup has been nothing short of epic. The all-time series stands at 55-33-6, with Lancaster enjoying recent dominance. However, the Wildcats will be eager to turn the tables and restore balance to this historic rivalry.

Lancaster’s recent success has seen them rise to the top echelons of their district, and their confidence is palpable. Led by an explosive offense and a stingy defense, the Legends have left their opponents in their wake. With their sights set on further glory, they enter this game as the favorites, determined to extend their dominance over Depew.

Rick Ford, Founder and CEO of the Great American Rivalry Series, spoke about the significance of this clash, saying, “The Lancaster vs. Depew rivalry is a classic showdown that exemplifies the passion and spirit of high school football. It’s a testament to the dedication and pride of these communities. We can expect an electrifying atmosphere at Foyle-King Field as these two teams battle it out on the gridiron.”

Beyond the numbers and statistics lies a storied tradition that has captivated the Buffalo suburbs. What started as a closely contested series has seen Lancaster assert their dominance over the last few years. However, rivalries have a way of defying expectations, and the Wildcats are keen to script a different narrative this time around.

With an anticipated crowd size of 4000, the atmosphere promises to be electric, as generations of fans come together to witness this epic clash. The Legends and Wildcats will leave it all on the field, showcasing the very best of high school football and reminding us why Friday nights hold a special place in our hearts.
