Separated by only 3.5 miles, this 100-year rivalry was voted as the best in the state of New York. One coach described the traffic on gameday as being on Long Island. The whole community comes out to celebrate the two schools and the game between them. Lancaster has had recent dominance in the series, winning 11of the last 17 dating back to 2004. Depew hosts this year’s contest and looks to get back in the win column.

Matthew is a high character kid who excels both on and off the field. In addition to having an average over 100%, he also plays football and basketball.

GAME SUMMARY

With 2:25 left in the 1st, the Legends put the first points on the board and after a missed extra point, the score was 6-0 to start the game. Lancaster landed another TD after an interception putting them up 13-0 approaching the end of the 1st. Another impressive run from the Legends and a HUGE punt return secured a big lead 27-0. With 56 seconds left in the half, Lancaster drove it in with a rushing TD to send the game into halftime 34-0. At the start of the second half, Depew sends a 66yd rocket downfield and got the extra two to put 24-8 on the scoreboard. With one and a half minutes left in the 3rd, the Legends put up another touchdown to command the lead and going into the 4th quarter 41-8. Lancaster’s defense held strong making the final score 41-8 in this year’s New York rivalry.
